Discussion Questions for Psalms, Chapter 75

  1. What things can you give thanks to the Lord from the past twenty-four hours? Last week? Last year? Why do we often fail to be thankful? How does thanksgiving a sign of spiritual growth?
  2. What are some of the wondrous deeds God has done in your life? What are some of the wondrous deeds God has done since creation? How have these impacted your life?
  3. What does it mean for the Lord to judge with equity? How is this different from wordly judgment?
  4. How does the Bible explain the way God keeps all things working together? Consider what Paul says in Colossians 1:15-20.
  5. The word Selah is often used as a pause or a time of reflection. As you reflect on God's judgment, blessings, mercy, etc. what does He bring to your mind? How should you respond from this time of reflection?
  6. What are some of the dangers of boasting? What should a believer boast about? What are something we boast about that point to ourselves rather then God? Why are tempted to boast about these things?
  7. How has God lifted you up? How has He put you down? How was he just in both of these?
  8. Identify sometimes in Scripture when both justice and mercy have flown from the hand of God. Explain a time when both of flow from God's hand in your life. How did you respond?
  9. How is praise, more thening singing? What does it look like declare the praise of the Lord forever?
  10. How does verse ten point to Jesus' final return? What are you anticipating of the Lord's return?
