  1. Is this Psalm about enemies who are wanting to kill you relevant for us today? Why or why not?
  2. How would you teach this Psalm in a sermon or Sunday School? How would you wrestle with some of the harsh language?
  3. How do you respond when you are unjustly judged like David is in this Psalm? What is your first response? What does that tell you about your heart?
  4. What are some of the way God is described in this Psalm? After looking through them, how does this change your view of God?
  5. What is the difference between the wrath of man and the wrath of God (v.13)? Why is the wrath of God important?
  6. David describes the Lord as a "shield" in v.11. What are some common characteristics of both a shield and God? How should live in light of God being our shield?
  7. Why is it important that God is a refuge? How should this encourage us?
  8. Say a younger believer comes to you and quotes v.13 ”consume them in wrath; consume them till they are no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob to the ends of the earth." (ESV) and asks you "should we then pray for our enemies to be "consumed in wrath" as well?" How would you answer this question biblically?
  9. Why is lying such a big deal to God? What are some common ways you find yourself lying in your life?
  10. Do you think it was a good idea for David to pray this way? Why or why not?
