  1. What do you think it was like for the people to understand God to be King of all the earth? What understanding did they have of God at that time to know that He was over all things?
  2. Psalm 47:3, "He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet." (ESV) What does it mean for a people to be "subdued"? How would the readers of that time have understood the meaning of the nations being under their feet?
  3. Psalm 47:4, "He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah" (ESV) What was their heritage? How does the use of the word "chose" highlight God’s intentionality over His people?
