  1. What is the importance that David sung this psalm after being delivered from the hand of Saul? Who can explain a brief summary of the story between David and Saul?
  2. in v.1-3, which descriptions of God stand out most to you? Why?
  3. In v.4-6, what is the problem that David is faced with? And in v.7-19, How does the Lord answer this distress? What does this tell you about the heart of God?
  4. V. 24 David says "So the Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness" (ESV). Does this mean our works or our own righteousness can get us to God? Or can it give us special rewards? Give scripture to back up your answer
  5. In v. 31-43, list just a couple of things that the Lord does for David. Name a time in your life that the Lord had equipped you for a work? What was the result of the equipping?
  6. In v.36-38, David employs some brutal language to describe the ways he was to end his enemies. What do you make of this? What would you say to an unbeliever who points to this passage and says "This is why I can't believe in God"?
