  1. Do you relate to verse 2-3? If we cannot have Wisdom, how can we receive it?
  2. How do you think an ancient Israelite would have answered verse 4? This was written well before Jesus' time on Earth, so how would they have interpreted it? How should we interpret it?
  3. In what ways does Agur caution against adding to God's words? Why is it important to embrace the completeness of God's word?
  4. Why does Agur ask for neither poverty nor riches? Which one do you think is harder: living a poor life and trusting God to provide for your needs, or being rich and remembering that the Lord provided those blessings for you? Why?
  5. Verses 11-14 laments the upcoming generation and their unwillingness to be obedient to God. Whose fault is that? How can you do your part to bring up the next generation in a way that will honor the Lord?
  6. Verse 20 describes the sin of adultery. Is pornography adultery? How does verse 20 describe pornography? How can you guard your heart against this?
  7. Why do you think the four things listed in verses 21 and 22 make the earth tremble? Why can't the earth endure these things?
  8. What is notable about verses 24-28? What connections to other passages can you make with these animals?
  9. How does a lizard being found in kings' palaces apply to our lives? How can you begin to identify and remove these "lizards?"
