  1. Numbers 29:1, “On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a day for you to blow the trumpets.” (ESV) What was the feast of the trumpets for? What did the blowing of trumpets represent? What kind of emotions would the people have felt when the trumpets were being blown?
  2. How does the seventh month stand out more than the other months? What events did it posses that the other months did not? How would this month have impacted how the people walked into the following months?
  3. What themes of repetition do you see in this chapter? How can this theme of repetition be applied to your life today?
  4. How do the different feasts each display a part of God’s Character?

  6. Numbers 29:7-8, “On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation and afflict yourselves. You shall do no work, but you shall offer a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma: one bull from the herd, one ram, seven male lambs a year old: see that they are without blemish.” (ESV) How would the people afflict themselves? What does The Lord mean when he says they shall do this in this context? How does this align with the other themes we see regarding having a holy convocation?
  7. Numbers 29:35, “On the eighth day you shall have a solemn assembly. You shall not do any ordinary work.” (ESV) How is this different from the sabbath or the holy convocation? Are they the same? How can we come to know this based off of what the passage tells us?
  8. Numbers 29:39, “These you shall offer to the LORD at your appointed feasts, in addition to your vow offerings and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your grain offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.” Which of these offerings do you have the hardest time understanding? What have you come to understand based off of what Scripture provides on each offering?
  9. How would the people have understood freewill offerings? What would be the equivalent of a free will offering in today’s context?
  10. How can the same concept found in this chapter be applied to tithing? How could you personally carry this theme into your tithing?
