  1. What does Ephraim's pursuit of the east wind represent? How does this apply to our lives today?
  2. Why was it wrong for Ephraim to make alliances with Egypt and Assyria? What would a modern version of this look like?
  3. Jacob was a selfish, scheming person before he repented and found the Lord. What did your life look like before you believed in Christ's redeeming power?
  4. Why does Hosea feel the need to remind Israel of the Lord's name (Yahweh) in verse 5?
  5. What would it look like to live in repentance as described by verse 6? How can you live in repentance this week?
  6. Israel had a belief that since they were God's chosen people, they could be as evil as they wanted with no repercussions. Put yourself in Hosea's shoes. How would you try to convince the Israelites that they aren't as "untouchable" as they think they are?
