  2. How does God set us apart today like He did with the priests in this chapter?
  3. Why were some parts of the animal sacrifice to be burnt on the altar and some to be burnt outside the camp? (Vs. 10-14)
  4. What does it mean for the sacrifice to be a “ram of ordination.” (Vs. 22)
  5. What different kinds of offerings did you see in this chapter? Why is it important to identify their differences and their similarities?
  6. “And you shall kill the ram and take part of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron and on the tips of the right ears of his sons, and on the thumbs of their right hands and on the great toes of their right feet, and throw the rest of the blood against the sides of the altar.” (Exodus 29:20, ESV) These are very specific locations to put the blood? Why do you think this is so? Would the people of Israel have understood why or was this a new concept to them?
  7. What does it mean to consecrate the altar? Why did it need to be consecrated? (Vs. 37)
  8. Why were offerings made at twilight? (Vs. 40) What would this timing have meant to the people of Israel? What would it have communicated to them about God’s heart?
  9. “The other lamb you shall offer at twilight, and shall offer with it a grain offering and its drink offering, as in the morning, for a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.” (Exodus 29:41, ESV) What does it mean that it was a pleasing aroma? How would you describe this in your own words?
  10. “And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.” (Exodus 29:46, ESV) What themes have you seen so far in Exodus regarding what God wants Israel to know?
