- The King of Syria coveted the treasures of Israel's King Ahab. What possessions of others do you covet? What sins of covetousness do you need to confess to the Lord?
- The Syrian king's covetous heart was rooted in pride. How does pride in your life lead to the sin of coveting?
- The Syrian king not only wanted Israel's possessions, but he also wanted Ahab's position. What titles and recognitions of others do you covet?
- King Ahab bows down to the Syrian king's request. Are you ever tempted to bow down to the requests of the world? What are examples of worldly requests you are tempted to bow down to? In what ways can you ask God to equip you to be bold in these situations?
- Despite King Ahab's fear, the prophet tells him that God will be gracious. Has God been gracious despite your fears? How do you react when God gives grace rather than punishment?
