  1. God did great things in Elijah’s life, yet he still feared the threats of Jezebel. What causes you to fear the threats of other people?
  2. God provides food to sustain Elijah in the wilderness. How does God sustain you during times of anxiousness and weakness?
  3. Does God prepare you ahead of time for the work He calls you to do? What things has God in your life to prepare you for future work? How have these things prepared you for that future work?
  4. Elijah’s fear caused him to hide in the cave. What stressors cause you to hide? What drives you to hide from God? How does the Holy Spirit aid us in responding to stress?
  5. Elijah tries to justify his hiding in verse 10. In what ways do you attempt to explain your hiding? Elijah’s self-focused response to God reveals his pride. What does pride look like in your life?

  10. Elisha leaves his family to assist Elijah. How have others helped you in your walk with God? How have you assisted others in walking with God?
