1 Kings Chapter 14 Summary
Satan does all he can to hinder the work of God's temple; but when he is withheld for a time, we should be extra zealous in that which is good that we might carry it forward to completion. (Acts-9:31).

- Why would Jeroboam’s wife disguise herself in this chapter, based on what has happened earlier in Kings? What do we learn of the nature of sin?
- Why would God perform the miracle in verses 4–5? What do we learn about God and humanity’s attempts to deceive God?
- What is it about David’s life that makes him a positive example in verse 8? How can David be an example for us today?
- Have your own parents and those who have gone before you at your church been a positive example like David, or not? Explain why, and explain how this shapes your own life.
- In verse 7 we read that God is the one who exalted Jeroboam to be king. What does this show us about God's control over the world? How does this affect our own lives?
