Discussion Questions for 1 Chronicles, Chapter 16

  1. What was the first thing Scripture tells us happened after placing the Ark inside the tent? How do you think David was feeling emotionally? How do you respond when a desire in your life becomes a reality through obedience in Christ?
  2. Verse 2 says that David “blessed” (ESV) the people. How can we bless others out of the blessing God gives us?
  3. When the Ark of the Lord celebration was over, what did David do (Verse 4)? What does this tell us about David’s leadership? Why did David not want the worship to be a one-day event? How did he go about setting up worship to be daily?
  4. Verses 7-36 are a song of praise and thanksgiving. Who wrote it? What is the benefit for Israel to sing or hear this song daily? How do we benefit from daily praise to God?
  5. What does proclaiming God’s greatness look like? Is it something we show or speak? How do you think you can proclaim His greatness in your life?
  6. In verse 8, who are we to let know of God’s greatness? Consider Matthew 10:32–33. How does it relate to this passage?
  7. Verse 11 (ESV) says we are to search for the Lord. How do we search for the Lord? Is it something we do alone or with others? Why or why not?
